The girls at the Shrimp Boil (Naomi, Lexi, Me, and Kari)

Jace tuckered out from the heat...but he was so good yesterday!!!

Although our summer weather hasn't been ideal this year, we have had fun getting together with friends throughout these warmer months. Many friends have come to meet Jace and we have traveled to visit with others. Of course, I have managed to leave my camera behind most times, but here are a few pics.

Anyway, us girls here in the Mankato area have enjoyed getting together for play dates, coffee, lunch, and parties (Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Lia Sofia, etc.). Back in June, I was able to catch up with my dear friend, Angie, in Worthington. A couple of weeks ago my long time friends, Erin and Beth, drove down from the cities for a visit and then this weekend we drove up to Maple Grove for the annual Maciej Shrimp Boil. It was so much fun to see them, their twin girls, and many of our St. Cloud friends.

Also this weekend, Alexis and Logan were able to spend time with their Grandma Kubesh and some friends at their lake home, which gave Jadee and I some much needed time together and with Jace. Although our anniversary was on Tuesday, we celebrated after the kids left on Thursday. My sister watched Jace for us and we were able to get out for a "quiet" meal and a few cocktails in celebration of 8 years of marriage. We hadn't went on a date night in a long time, so it was wonderful needless to say.

It's hard to believe that summer is almost over and much of this fun will slow down for another winter. As do our friends and their families, we get so busy with extra-curricular activities for the kids during the school year that we hardly see any of our friends for months. That's why I love summer so much...time to refresh and catch up!
