Jace turned 5 months old on Sunday, November 8th. He continues to grow and grow...and it seems he gets another little fat roll every month! He is such a chunky monkey and I love it! I have probably said this in every single post, but Jace is a very happy baby. He is always all smiles and no fuss. What more could we ask for?
At 5 months, he is rolling from back to tummy a lot and from tummy to back occasionally (by accident). He is reaching for his feet and playing with his toes. Clothing and diaper changes have gotten somewhat tricky as he wants to eat his feet. When eating, he likes to let me know he is in charge by latching on and off like I am a Pepsi fountain. It makes me laugh because he smiles every time and then it's back to business. He also like to wave his free hand around and put his fingers in my mouth...he must really like those fingers because if they aren't in his mouth, he thinks they need to be in mine!
Since Jace loves to grab everything, I have had to forgo lipstick, necklaces, earrings that dangle, and I'm about ready to shave my head because he loves to grab hair and hang on for dear life. He has become interested in solid foods and the process of learning to eat. He loves to grab for our drinking glasses and he thinks it's funny when we put food in our mouths. Jace has also taken up singing and bickering (must have picked up on that already from his older siblings...or me). He squeals loudly and happily one minute and then he gets a really serious look the next and lowers the pitch of his voice...then he laughs hysterically. I sure wish I had the same sense of humor when people are bickering and complaining. Ha, ha!
Other than that, Jace has been pretty healthy. I suppose all of that will change soon. My first day back at work was last week, Wednesday, November 4th. It was a rough day and the transition all together has been challenging, but it's working. I'm getting back into the swing of things quickly and daycare is going well. Of course, I would love nothing more than to stay home with my little guy and to be there for Alexis and Logan before and after school, but it is what it is so I cherish my nights and weekends with my family. I do give a little bit of time up for my photo hobby. Jace is one of my best customers, however, so we still get to spend some time together then too.
