So, over the weekend I committed myself to cleaning and organizing our home. As most of you know, I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my house. I can't stand a dirty house...so yes, I am a "toothbrush" scrubber! Well since Jace was born, I had neglected to get that toothbrush out until now. Let's just say that the whole idea of "letting the house go" was feeling a little bittersweet on Saturday.
It is amazing how fast things pile up! Where does all the junk come from??? Unlike her mother, my daughter is a random-abstract. While cleaning her room, I pitched 2 bags full of the most random items I have ever seen. Of course I had to accomplish this task while she was gone. Otherwise, I doubt she would have parted ways with the scraps of paper, cut pieces of fabric, and the many unfinished projects I found...and how is it my child has a zillion McDonald's toys when we don't even eat there??? On the other hand, I found many of the missing sock pairs that I thought our washer had eaten!
The rest of the house was almost just as bad. Our closet and drawers needed organizing, Logan's room needed cleaning, my studio area needed to be tidied up, and I desperately needed to dust (ahh choo)!
Hmm, I wonder how long my house will stay clean??? I am thinking that I need to resort to my old ways and do a little cleaning each night. I do NOT want to spend another long weekend cleaning like that again in a VERY long time!!!
Next on my list...get to bed much earlier on a regular basis. I am in need of some extended zzz's.
