Dear Family & Friends,
It truly is the most wonderful time of the year...the tree is decorated, the stockings are hung, and it is definitely going to be a very white Christmas! We have much to be thankful for this season and all of 2010.
Alexis is almost 10 years old and in the 4th grade. She continues to dance and this year added ballet as a requirement for teams. We are so proud of how hard she works dancing and keeping up with her schoolwork. It’s hard to believe she only has one year left at Eagle Lake Elementary, as we already missed watching her sing in the K-3 Winter Concert last week. With that however, we are looking forward to watching her perform in the 4th and 5th grade plays presented in the spring. During her spare time, she enjoys talking on the phone or texting her friends, curling her hair, or painting her nails…oh the teenage years that are yet to come! Thankfully, she does still enjoy some of the pleasures of just being 9 years old too like crafts, drawing, shopping with mom, animals, and her American Girl Dolls.
Logan turned 6 years old in July and is in the 1st grade. He is playing his second year of hockey and it is so much fun to watch him in action on the ice! This time last year, Logan spent much of his ice time wiping out and getting back up, but now he is skating circles around many of the younger skaters (and some of the bigger ones too). In school, he is working hard to become a fluent reader. His favorite subjects are lunch and recess, but he does especially well in math. When he is home, he is almost ALWAYS outside…no matter how hot or cold the weather is. During warm weather, he loves to swim, bike, and rollerblade and during the winter months, he loves to build snow forts, shovel, and help his dad blow snow. Logan also loves NERF guns and indulging in treats with his mother.
Jace turned one year old in June and it didn’t take him long to go from walking to running! We just love this age and enjoy the simplicity of his innocence and naivety. Jace is very easy-going, predictable, and entertaining to say the least. He is a happy little man who is always smiley and loving. Like his big brother, Jace is a talker and saying many words. Most of them we can figure out, but there are a few that have us stumped. Right now he loves to look at all the “pretty lights” and is so excited to light the Christmas tree every evening. Recently, he add "Oh Jace!" to his list of words and phrases...and of course, this usually follows him doing something like throwing washcloths into the toilet! Some of his favorite things include stuffed animals, balls, books, cupboard items, and his blanket and pacifier. His least favorite things include vegetables, bad-tasting medicine, hats, and mittens.
Jadee continues to work at Kraft Foods and was promoted to the position of Associate Human Resources Manager in February. Since then, he has been on a wait to obtain his own site as the Human Resources Manager. With the economy, there has been little movement in the company, but that is projected to change in the coming year(s). He also assumed the roles of managing the kids’ homework, taxiing them to and from activities, grocery shopping, laundry, cooking…and about everything else around the house. On the other hand, he was able to eliminate the job of shoveling this winter, as he is the proud new owner of a fully loaded snow blower! Regardless, he is a busy man and I am so thankful for his help.
Me…well, I continue to work as an Assessment Specialist with the Mankato Special Education Department. Then during the evening and weekend hours, I manage my photography business and spend many hours doing sessions, editing, and filling orders. Since officially launching my business in late spring, I have done well and continue to grow my clientele. Over the summer, I started doing senior portraiture in addition to babies, kids, and families and so that kept me very busy until just recently. I attended a few workshops this year as well and in October spent 3 days in Chicago shooting on location with Brianna Graham as part of her very last workshop. It was amazing and I learned so much about my style and my business goals. Unfortunately, there are no easy short cuts when making a career change but I am at least on the right path and will have many decisions to make in the near future. Well, 2010 was a wonderful year, but we also look forward to the New Year and all it has to bring. In 2011, we look forward to our new (and last) addition to our family, as Baby Kubesh is due May 10th, 2011. We also wish you peace, love, joy, and good health for 2011!
