Other than that, the actual ultrasound was a little interesting and we are now anxiously awaiting a phone call from our doctor to ease our minds, even though the tech told us not to worry. At this point, we don't think there is a reason for concern, but the appointment went like this...
The ultrasound lasted more than an hour and for the first 15 minutes, the tech looked numerous times at baby's heart from several different angles and zoom lengths. Before we said anything, she read our minds and assured us that she was looking at the heart and taking several pictures because an EKG specialist was in town doing some training with the techs. Okay. No big deal. After 15-20 minutes of fun identifying baby's face, profile pictures, arms, legs, fingers, toes, etc., she stopped and we assumed she was done. I proceeded to ask Jadee what time he was leaving town and the tech suddenly asked if we were in a hurry because she wanted the EKG specialist to come take a look with her. Okay. No big deal. After a few minutes, she and the specialist returned, he sat down at the machine, and then he started waving the wand over my belly. Another 15 minutes later, the tech and specialist finally exchanged some words of "see that," "yup," and then..."I see what you are talking about and it's worth mentioning to the doctor." What??? Not okay! What is going on???!!! Supposedly, the tech suspected something and the specialist confirmed her suspicion. All we know is that they both found something more prominent. Not sure what that means, or if it's of any concern. Today we were told not to worry and that we would hear from our doctor in the next day or two. Okay...thanks?
So...we pray this is a BIG nothing. We will see. Not really sure how not to worry, but I am trying ;) In the meantime, enjoy some updated pictures of our baby girl!
