Blessed

Today was a good day! Jadee and I traveled to Edina for baby's level two ultrasound and to meet with the heart specialist. The ultrasound technician did a very thorough scan and pointed out the bright, white spot noted in last week's routine ultrasound. It was very visible today, however, Dr. Fairbanks reported the spot to be nothing more than an "ultrasound finding." It is called an echogenic intracardiac focus, which is basically a calcium deposit. According to research, a finding such as this is an indicator of Down Syndrome, but since baby's measurements are normal and the 12-week ultrasound I had that was specific to identifying Down Syndrome was fine, the doctor is confident that our baby girl is perfectly healthy!!! Dr. Fairbanks also ruled out the presence of any "thickening" in her heart. Thank you God! We are sincerely grateful and feel truly blessed.

Here are a few pictures of our little girl from today...and yes, we are indeed having a girl!!!

Gender...there's the hamburger ;)
Foot...I think she has Jadee's toes.
Face...here she was opening her mouth and sticking out her tongue.
Profile...she likes to have her hands by her face (you can clearly see the one on the opposite side).

Also, thank you again for all of your prayers and encouragement! God definitely heard every single one of them!!!
