Busy, Busy, and Busier Yet

Since my last post...it's been busy, busy, and busier yet!

February was a busy month for us...it always is...and it felt like Christmas with all the gifts and wrapping paper!  We celebrated Logan's half-birthday with his school friends early in the month.  Since he is a summer birthday he feels cheated that he doesn't get to celebrate his birthday during the school year like his friends, so celebrating his half-birthday is our compromise.  We also celebrated my niece's birthday on the 19th, my birthday on the 20th, and then Alexis's birthday on the 23rd.

March has been just as busy.  We started the month off with a slumber party in celebration of Alexis's 10th birthday.  We had 5 girls spend the night...and it was a long night.  Oh the memories of being a 10 year old girl!  Then we started the process of making room for the baby.  So far we have consolidated two storage rooms to one, making room for my office and photo props in the other.  My office is no longer "pretty" but it's functional.  Besides,  I would rather the baby have a special room all her own!  We decided to buy new furniture and leave Jace's room just the way it is since he still loves his crib and is such a great sleeper.  We also got a great deal on an additional piece of furniture that matches Alexis's bedroom set, so we purchased the chest of drawers for her room and moved the dresser into the baby's room since it can also function as a changing table.  I am loving the white furniture for the nursery and am excited to get her new crib on Friday.

The rest of March is filled with dance competitions, conferences, and hockey games.  On top of everything going on, our home computer (and my business computer) took a dive at the worst time ever...and it's not worth fixing.  Of course I am in the middle of editing baby pictures and preparing for senior graduation announcements, too.  I am amazed at how computers just literally fall apart one day just shortly after the 4 or 5 year mark.  Right now, I am thinking April can't come fast enough...well, actually May...but I'm sure it will be here and gone before I know it.  Can you believe that baby is due in just 7.5 weeks???  Yikes!  So much to do yet!!!

Other than that, Jadee and I have been knocked down with some terrible news in the last few weeks.  All is well with us and our kids, but a family member has been diagnosed with cancer.  It just sucks...I dread the "C" word.  We are optimistic, however, that it's a fight that can and will be won!

In light of everything...Jadee and I have been doing some major "soul searching" about the important things in life.  We sit back and look at how busy our lives have become...so busy that there really is NO time to enjoy it.  So busy that there really is NO time to watch our kids grow and to actually remember a moment of it.  So busy that we feel it's time for a SIGNIFICANT intervention.  We have not made any final plans yet, as we are still figuring things out (and things could most certainly change), but right now we are leaning in the direction of me taking some additional time off from work.  We are praying everything will work out as planned and that we will be able to go ahead and take this step to better our future.  It will be a huge financial sacrifice...but with some lifestyle changes and the addition of my business, we are optimistic it's the direction fate is moving us toward.

Until next time...

Umm...my arm is stuck!
Hey, look what I can do...climb up by myself.
What?  Do I look silly???  I dressed myself!!!
