"Yes, No, Oh Goodness...and Baby It's Cold Outside!"

Well, winter has returned! I'm thinking the snow total for today must be somewhere around 12+ inches...at least. I guess I can't complain because I did enjoy my lazy "birthday" today.  Yes, another year older and I am definitely feeling each of those years these days!!!

To celebrate, Jadee and I headed to the cities after my niece's birthday party yesterday.  Unfortunately, we were not able to spend the night (darn snow) but my parents stayed long enough to watch the kids so that Jadee and I could enjoy dinner and some shopping.  My hubby treated me to dinner at my favorite restaurant, Tucci Benucch, and I treated myself to a fabulous maternity support belt...yup, you read that right.  It was short-lived, but the time together was so great.  I seriously love kid-free time with my husband!!!  Today, I awoke to bagels from Panera Bread, an iced coffee, and birthday cards.  My daughter even sang me a song from Justin Bieber's album (hee, hee)!

For the rest of today, I enjoyed my time with my family and catching up with some photo editing.  I even managed to do a photo session for Jace because I hadn't taken pictures of him since October.  It's always a little challenging photographing my own children, but I did get a few cute ones.  I think he lasted all of 15 minutes...and he did not particularly care for the hat I made him wear!

At 20 months (and then some), Jace is expressing more independence and he is quite the talker.  He is answering "yes" and "no" questions more accurately these days and he lets us know that he means what he says.  He is still obsessed with balls, balloons, cookies, and his nuks but he has also added car rides to that list.  I think the cutest thing right now though, is when he says, "Oh goodness!"  He is also telling us "it's cold" when we go outside.  My belly is now "mommy's baby" and he loves to lift my shirt and then say "all done" as he pulls it back down. Whenever I am editing photos, he is very excited to sit on my lap and see the pictures of babies.  Hopefully, the transition will go well for him and us when our baby girl does arrive!

Anyway, here are few pictures from his recent photo session.  He has grown so much and is looking less like a baby these days (sigh).  I am thinking it's time for his first haircut too!
