With just a few weeks left until baby arrives, I am definitely stressing out at this point. It seems we take 3 steps forward...and then 2 steps back with accomplishing our "to do" list around here. For the most part, I have been accepting these setbacks and even finding humor in some of them, but I also admit that I really hope things will turn around SOON so I can relax a little before she arrives. I am very ready to welcome this little girl and look forward to spending every minute of those first weeks together...without a "to do" list hanging over my head.
So, the computer crashed a few weeks ago. We got a new one, and although "brand new," it has not been without it's challenges. We cleaned house weeks ago, got rid of a ton of stuff, and turned the storage room into my office. Yet, our house still feels like a cluttered mess due to the never-ending pile of junk-mail and paperwork to go through, the daily treat of cleaning out our kids' backpacks, the now cluttered garage (thanks to cleaning out the storage rooms and closets), and the laundry that never ends. Speaking of laundry, our washer decided to take a dive on Saturday night...seriously. Remember the nursery??? It's still not put together. I finally got the bedding put together on the crib, the curtains steamed, and the dresser cleared off. The artwork also came...and it's super cute...however, I decided to attempt paint touch-ups one more time because you could see every spot I had touched up last time. Well, let's just say that as I type, the entire nursery is covered with blankets and drop cloths because Jadee and I just finished repainting two entire walls because the paint was not matching for some reason. Apparently, the dye lots changed that drastically from our first can of paint that started in that room to our last can of paint that ended in our room when we painted a couple of years ago. We are hopeful the difference won't be noticeable from one wall to the next (fingers crossed) since we edged and painted corner to corner. The ironic thing is that we decided to leave the walls brown instead of painting them pink to "avoid" painting. Ha!
Other than that, it's very busy right now in addition to the household tasks. Alexis has dance pictures two nights this week for a few hours each (she also has some extra practices, another competition, and recital yet in the next month), our daycare is closed tomorrow for the third day since Friday, and we have our tax appointment on Wednesday (ugh). We just need to get through this week I guess, knowing things can only get better...right?
On a happy note, we had our 36-week ultra-sound today. Baby is looking good and measuring within the average range at about 6 pounds. As long as she maintains her growth and doesn't have a huge growth spurt, there is some hope for a baby weighing less than 10 pounds! I am praying, and praying, and praying that she does not weigh in with stats like Jace at 9 pounds, 13 ounces!!!
Also, last week I did my first event to promote Stacy Kubesh Photography. So many people commented on my work and I have gotten several e-mails since about scheduling sessions! The event was the Biggest Baby Shower Event at the Wow Zone, which was sponsored by Radio Mankato, ISJ, Mankato Clinic, and the Minnesota Organization of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. I kept it simple with a couple of large prints, a slide show of baby pictures, and some business cards...and the feedback was very positive. I can't wait to do more events!
Well, I suppose I better get some cleaning done and then head to bed. Of course, what would a post be without a couple of pictures??? Enjoy!
