Our spring break started off with a bang...literally. On Friday night, Jace had a run-in with a lid to one of the pots. He loves to play with pots and pans and we have never given it a second thought. I mean, playing in the cupboards with pots and pans seems to be a right of passage or something. Well, Jace did not have so much fun the last time and he hasn't touched them since. While carrying a lid and looking at his reflection in it, he tripped over my boots that he had been wearing around earlier and...we spent the rest of the evening at Urgent Care. The larger part of the cut was fairly deep and so they "glued" it together with Dermabond. It now looks like he has a black eye, so he looks pretty roughed up. He has done well with the glue on his face though and has learned to lay down on the side that doesn't hurt. He also loves to show it off and say "eye" while he winks at you. The doctor said it could scar some, but he was hesitant to do real stitches. Luckily we aren't heading to the waterpark until tomorrow so it will have some more time to heal. Doctor's orders: try to keep him from getting his face too wet. Uh, huh. Not sure how I am going to contain an almost 2-year old from dunking his head under water!
