The weekend was very eventful, to say the least. Really...I am trying to find humor in some of these things, but I admit that I'm in need of a break. Baby is due for arrival any day now, I am lacking sleep and any kind of rest for that matter, and I have a zillion things to do yet.
On Tuesday, I received an e-mail from a couple I met at the Biggest Baby Shower event wanting a newborn session. I LOVE newborn sessions and hate passing them up; therefore I decided to go ahead and book it for Monday morning since the house would be quiet (my last day of work was Friday) and it would be my last session anyway. I figured I could swing it...even though my belly is huge and my last sessions were difficult to accomplish. On a side note, I had already promised this couple a session but their baby wasn't due until the end of May...surprise!
On Thursday evening, I received another e-mail from a different couple I met at the Biggest Baby Shower and not only did I promise them a session...this particular couple is the couple that won the newborn session and portrait package I gave away. Well, their baby wasn't due to arrive for another few weeks either so I anticipated doing their session later in May too...surprise again! So, I did their session today.
On another side note...and I am not complaining...I did 8 sessions in April in addition to announcements for my 2011 seniors. Needless to say, April was extremely busy with a TON of editing to do. All of which, I accomplished between Tuesday and tonight.
Anyway, knowing I would have a newborn session on Sunday and another on Monday, I decided to do as much as possible on Saturday...laundry, some last-minute shopping, packing my bags, etc. Jadee had his own to-do list, which included watching the kids and a few other things. One of those things on his list was closing up one of the openings on the swing set. There used to be a rope wall there, but it broke during a windstorm in Oklahoma a few years back. Now, when Jace climbs the rock wall on the other side, he stands and backs up when he gets to the top and we have been nervous about him backing up too far and falling off. So with good intentions, Jadee set sail to accomplish this task...and then he ended up in the emergency room. Yup, the emergency room. The table saw got a hold of his glove and pulled his hand into the blade. He is now missing the tip of his finger and quite a bit of his finger nail. THANKFULLY, he was able to pull his hand away and the glove came loose!!! It could have been so much worse! Seriously...THANK. GOD.
Well, while he was at the emergency room I attempted to pack my hospital bag and that task was not easily accomplished. As I packed, Jace unpacked. I needed a few things yet anyway, so decided to head to the mall with Jace and Logan (Alexis was with Jadee) for supper and some shopping. While getting Jace ready to go, Logan decided to go for a bike ride. Yup, a bike ride...after I told him to stay put. I. WAS. FURIOUS. When I found him, I told him to ride his bike home and then to get in the truck. In the mean time, I forgot to put Annie (our dog) in the house. It wasn't until I got to the mall that I remembered she was still outside on the leash. I figured it would be fine, but unfortunately I thought wrong. By the time we got home, she was missing. Yup, missing. Long story short (and after a lot of searching and tears), we called the police and found that she had been picked up. Someone found her...with her 20-foot lead and the ground stake attached. She is safe and was brought to the Mankato Pet Hospital. Since it was late Saturday night, we won't get her back until Monday. Poor thing...as I write this, I bet she is so scared :(
Soooo...it was an eventful weekend. I'm hopeful that after my newborn session tomorrow things will sssslllloooowwww down. I need at least a little bit of a break before baby comes. I'm also looking very forward to my beloved cleaning lady coming on Tuesday!
Here's to a good week!!! And what's a blog post without a photo??? This is one from my photo session today. Meet baby Zoey...she made my heart melt. I so can't wait to meet my baby girl!
