The Last Two Weeks

Coming Home...

Get me OUT of this car seat!!!
Welcomed by grandma who had my house beautiful, laundry done, and a yummy roast meal made.

Harper sleeping peacefully in her crib for the first time.  I know, I know...she should be on her back and not sleeping with stuffed animals.  Don't worry, she doesn't typically sleep this way.
Snoozing with dad.
 Snuggling with big sister, Alexis.
Big brother Jace sharing his bouncy balls with Harper.
 Our kids...all 4 of them!!!

First Sponge Bath...

Jaundice...

Harper and I made our first out-patient visit to ISJ on the Sunday of Mother's Day.  Her jaundice level was borderline when we left the hospital, so we needed to monitor the amount of bilirubin in her blood as well as her weight.  When we were discharged from the hospital her weight was down to 7 pounds, 2 ounces.  We made several visits through her first week and discontinued out-patient care last week on Friday when her weight was up to 7 pounds, 8 ounces and there was a decrease in her bilirubin count.  For once, we managed to skip out on photo light therapy.

Dance Recital...

Alexis performed in her 6th dance recital this last weekend.  Unfortunately, I did not capture many pictures this year between costume changes, hair and make-up changes, and taking care of Harper both back stage and during performances.  It was a daunting task and a very long weekend, as we were at West High School from 11am-10:30pm on Saturday and from 12:30pm-7:30pm on Sunday.  Overall, everything went well and Harper was very good.  Thankfully, she pretty much ate and slept.  Alexis did great too!!!  I was so proud of her this year, as she hung in there from the first performance to the last performance and never complained.  With being a year older, she was also incredibly responsible and helpful this year too.  Jadee also performed in the father-daughter dance at every performance.  He did great and Alexis was so happy he participated.  He even did the worm on stage and made the cover of the Mankato Free Press while dancing with Alexis.

 Rest Time and Bonding...

With the last couple of weeks behind us, Harper and I are finally enjoying some lazy days at home while the older kids are at school and daycare.  Here is a look at a typical day for us:

5:30am - Harper wakes to eat
6:15am - We go back to bed
7:15am - Get Jace, Alexis, and Logan off to daycare and school
8:00am - Harper eats again
9:00am-11:00am - Most days, we sleep "again"
11:00am - Harper eats again
12:00pm - I try to shower while Harper relaxes in her chair
1:30pm - Harper eats
2:00pm - 4:00pm - Harper takes a long nap in the bassinet while I clean, do laundry, etc.
4:00pm - Harper eats and then lounges in her swing or chair while I try to accomplish something (like supper, e-mail, etc.)
6:00pm - Supper time, homework, try to spend time with Alexis, Logan, and Jace
6:30pm - Harper eats and then sleeps
8:30pm - Kids in bed and Harper begins cluster feeding every hour to two hours until midnight
12:00am - Finally, I go to bed and Harper sleeps 3-4 hours before waking for yet another feeding

As you can see, Harper eats a lot...and that's putting it mildly.  Between nursing and changing diapers, I accomplish very little right now, but that's life with a newborn I guess.  Luckily, I have very little on my "to-do" list these days but I do need to get her newborn photos edited so I can send out her announcements.  I'll post pictures when I get them done!
