16 Weeks

I am 16 weeks pregnant, two weeks into my 2nd trimester, and happy to report that I am feeling much better. Needless to say, it was a long 1st trimester...but like my doctor says, "The sicker, the better." I am sleeping better too, which gives me more energy during the day to keep up with Alexis, Logan, and the household chores. My appetite is gradually returning as well...just in time for all of the holiday treats of course!

The most exciting news I have to share at this time is that I am feeling the baby move. I'm pretty sure I have been feeling it for a few weeks now, but in the last few days I have been feeling stronger movements more frequently. Before too long, I'm sure I will be feeling those little feet kicking me in the ribs on a regular basis. I just love it, as this is my favorite part of pregnancy and something I have been missing.

Alexis and Logan are so excited for this baby. Alexis continues to insist that we are having a baby girl. She wants to share her room with the baby and she also wants to name her. Logan has his mind made up that we will have a baby boy because he has been praying to God for a boy and not girl. It really is funny and cute to listen to their conversations.

My next appointment is Monday, December 29th. We will also have a mid-term ultrasound in the next few weeks when we hope to find out the sex of the baby. I'm a little nervous about that because I always wonder if they will be wrong, but either way we still want to find out. My doctor seems pretty confident that we will have a clear picture of the anatomy by 18 weeks...so long as this little one isn't a modest little thing.

Well, I wish everyone safe travels this holiday season. Merry Christmas!
