Christmas Day

Christmas morning we were up bright and early...actually we set the kids' alarm clock and told them they couldn't get out of bed before 7:30. Otherwise, they would have been up at the crack of dawn! Needless to say, the kids could hardly wait to open their gifts from Santa. Alexis got a Nintendo DS (which was at the top of her list), a Littlest Petshop DS game, a Littlest Petshop pet, and a carry case for her DS. Logan got a racecar track (that we later sent back to Santa because it's not as good as Grandpa Schutz's), Star Wars legos, and other lego creations.
Later that morning, we headed for Worthington to celebrate the rest of Christmas Day with my family. We had one of our favorite meals, steak and shrimp with sauted mushrooms, cheesy potatoes, corn, salad, and garlic bread. There were also many desserts and treats. We then opened gifts and played games for the rest of the day. The kids enjoyed playing with their new toys and spending time with Grandpa Schutz racing cars on the track that he bought for them to play with when they come visit. I'm not sure who was more excited about the track...the kids or Grandpa! The adults played a few card games and a round of Phase 10. Playing cards is one of the highlights for most in my family. Jadee always looks forward to the competition of playing with my brother, his wife Melissa, my sister, and her husband Nick. My mom and I usually opt for a movie.
