Some days, being a mom is the hardest job ever...and actually going to work feels like a vacation. Today is one of those days. I'm sure to some, being a teacher and having summers off sounds like a walk in the park. Well yes, we do have some days like that during the summer, but in reality, many of us go from working full-time at school to working full-time at home as a stay-at-home-mom.
As a matter of fact, since I am a teacher, I can't remember the last time I had a day to myself without children to take care of. Was it MEA break in October? Nope, kids had off from school. Was it Thanksgiving or Christmas break? Nope, kids had off from school. Maybe it was Presidents' Day...nope, kids had off from school. I know, it was Easter/Spring break! Nope, kids had off from school. Memorial Day? Nope.
So yes, it is one of those days when I am literally screaming for a break. It is time for kids to be back in school. It is time for my "real" maternity leave to begin with Jace. And although I can't predict a diaper blow-out during a nursing session...I just might start giving my 5 year old a tippy cup again to avoid huge spills of milk all over the floor.
Did I mention that I actually showered today, put make-up on, and had intentions of getting out of the house for awhile to run errands? Yeah, not happening.
I NEED A BREAK!!! I love and adore my children, but I NEED A BREAK!!! I need a date night with my husband and I need a girls' night with my friends. Anyone? Please? Call me, e-mail me, I am desperate!!!
