We decided to forgo St. Cloud for Christmas Eve and left for Worthington right away after I got off of work on Wednesday. Jadee had the truck packed and the kids ready to go! Good thing we left when we did because the roads were already bad. We made it safely to Worthington and spent the next 3 days there with my parents. My sister and her family made it safely on Christmas Eve and since my brother lives in Worthington, his family was also able to make it. As usual, it was wonderful to be all together for the holiday. Jadee's parents were not so fortunate...the Olson Christmas was cancelled entirely on Christmas Eve. Luckily, we were able to celebrate with them at our home the following Sunday as planned. The roads had cleared by then, so we enjoyed the day with his mom and dad, brothers, their girlfriends, and Adele & Bill.
Alexis and Logan had a great time this Christmas. They enjoyed being "snowed in" at grandma and grandpa's...where they got a whopping 24 inches of snow! Logan was in his seventh heaven being outside with grandpa while he blew snow. Jadee helped the kids build a fort and the kids had a blast playing with their cousins and the neighbor kids outside.
Jace spent the morning of Christmas Eve at the Worthington clinic. He was diagnosed with his 3rd ear infection, so that is 3 in just 3 months now. For a couple of days he had a high fever again and lots of ear pain. We are now making regular trips to the chiropractor...we have to "try" something other than antibiotics. I do think it is helping with the discomfort he seems to experience between infections. Martin Luther King day is in a couple of weeks and since his ear infections seem to make their debut during the holidays, we will see. Other than that, Jace's first Christmas was entertaining to say the least. He loved eating the wrapping paper and chewing on the bows!
Well, Christmas 2009 will be remembered as the year of the BIG snow storm. It will also be remembered as a joyous celebration with our loved ones.
